Sometimes you spend your life half living it, until something strikes you and makes you realize that it implies more things than you are accustomed to. This trip has helped me to see life from a different perspective, to organize my ideas and to see an open door wherever I go.
Castleton, a Vermont State University possesses a wonderful campus; its surroundings take your breath away. I loved the contact with nature since the university is surrounded by woods. Going to concerts in campus, hiking and canoeing were some of the various activities we took part in. Our contribution and promotion of our culture during a lesson regarding the importance of Chinese food and the extraordinary fusion Chifa represents. Additionally, we exchanged information about shamans, traditional medicine and the current medical system. We also held a gathering in which we talked to students and faculty as well, about a wide range of topics, these included politics, the recently elected president and the redistribution of wealth.
Information proved to be of the upmost importance in order to understand and truly enjoy the activities. We were given an introduction of the topic we were about to do, for instance one of our trips included a visit to Vemont’s historic landmarks, for which we had a class about the state formation, the war and the significance of the different buildings we visited.
Before leaving Vermont, we also made a presentation on how this experience has change each and one of us. Having enjoyed Vermont, we headed towards New York- State, to Manhattan to be precise. This city can be overwhelming in a positive way; there are so many things to do that you might hesitate on which things to do first. Nevertheless we had a great time in the Big Apple.
All in all this was a terrific, unforgettable experience. I look forward to go back again!
