1st EducationUSA Fair of American Universities

Fairleigh Dickinson University

U.S. Embassy Consul and
the Director of EducationUSA BNC Arequipa
We were pleased to hold for the first time in this city such an important event. The significance lays on the opportunities that prospective students as well as the general public had at attending this fair. Arequipa is the second largest city in the country and holds an average of 1’000,000 inhabitants; therefore the city was in need of updated and precise information regarding higher studies, intensive English lessons in the United States and information regarding student visas.
The Consul of the United States Embassy gave a short talk about obtaining student visa, this was of the upmost importance for people willing to study in the United States and need to follow the policies and procedures to obtain a student visa.  Additionally, the six universities invited, Murray State University, Fairleigh Dickinson University, Emerson College, Mississippi State University, Castleton, Vermont State College and University of California, San Diego gave presentations regarding admissions, careers, ESL, financial aid among other topics.
The favorable reception this fair had could be translated in the 816 attendants, who left the aforementioned fair more than satisfied with the previously activities mentioned. We look forward to being able to organize this event in the following years.
